Creating Action Around God's Important Issues

Issue to Action is the Church’s call to recognize the issues God reveals in Scripture and in our communities, and to create Spirit-led, practical action that brings healing and transformation. Rooted in Luke 9:2—“Spread the Gospel and Heal the Sick”—we believe the Church is uniquely positioned to turn revelation into restoration.

Core Principles

God’s Issues First – The Bible reveals the brokenness God cares about: injustice, poverty, trauma, division, and unbelief. These are not optional—they are divine assignments.

The Church as Catalyst – The local church is the place where God’s issues are discerned, prayed over, and acted upon.

Best Practices, Spirit-Led – With 40+ years of business and ministry experience, we leverage proven frameworks to turn vision into action while remaining sensitive to the Spirit’s leading.

Healing + Proclamation – Every action must hold together the dual mandate of Luke 9:2: proclaiming the Good News and bringing tangible healing to the wounded.

The Process
(Based on Our Ministry Phases)

  1. Missional Ministry (Seeing the Issues)

    • Discern God’s issues through Scripture, prayer, and listening to the community.

    • Identify where the Gospel must be proclaimed and where healing is needed.

  2. Healing Discipleship (Forming the Response)

    • Equip disciples to carry the burden of God’s issues with wisdom and compassion, seeking brokenness.

    • Develop Spirit-led healing strategies and processes rooted in both theology and best practices.

  3. Trauma Equipping (Taking Action)

    • Implement healing actions that restore dignity, break cycles of trauma, and embody the Kingdom.

    • Measure transformation not just in numbers, but in stories of lives healed and communities renewed.

The Trauma-Equipped Church Strategy Presentation, Abridged

This is the first presentation that created the idea of a trauma-equipped church. There have been many presentations since, mainly focusing on implementation strategies and rapid growth into areas such as planting mission points, microchurches, churches, and centers.

Three Ministries Are Needed To Build A Trauma-Equipped Church

The easiest ministry to develop is Missional Ministry, requiring the least amount of cultural shift in your church. Healing Discipleship requires both inreach and outreach ministries. Serving the underserved trauma marketplace as a Certified Trauma-Equipped Church requires the most cultural growth.

Testimony: Why I Do This

Over the years, I came upon a ministry model I call "healing discipleship." This is a long-term commitment to obedience in Jesus, as we dedicate ourselves to a Christ-like emotional and spiritual healing process. I've done several of these healing discipleships across my life. Now, I help others do the same, starting with online training, then coaching, and helping you lead groups at your local church. The public wants the church to 'rise and shine' to help those in need overcome trauma. 15,000 Facebook followers agree. Trauma is a spiritual wound first. Psalm 34:18 says, "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." Even non-Christian counselors know this about a crushed spirit, as we are triune beings, Body, Mind, and Spirit. I hope the Spirit moves you in these initial courses. There are more coming.
